Nice, Neotel will be gunning the consumer market in 2 months or so, offering a decoder like router able to stream 1500 tv channels and an extra uncapped 11 something mbps connie, these will be offered as seperate packages.

how sweet is that? i say its pretty sweet, the TV service will be charged at R200 a month. and you will get the Router on a contract basis free.

dont ask me where i got this, but its a good source.

Would we still have to pay Telscum "connectivity rental" if we want to use Neotel?

Don't think so if they using CDMA for last mile access. LLU might also happen this year (holding thumbs).

Maybe he meant R2000pm  That sounds more proudly South African.

I have to ask, wtf is up with this in the original post:

Was this a copy and paste from somewhere?

Guys, you heard me, R200 for TV, will include ppv services and channels like the entire BBC roundup.

Another thing which was interesting, the source spoke of a service that would allow you to submit your own recordings or even go live ala Waynes World. They are probably counting on that to act as a sort of new perpetual Youtube.

Believe me when I say this, the source is reliable.

Yes and that includes 1500 channels, only 24 of them would probably be any good :P (thats pointing the finger at YOU Dstv! )

And all the channels will be offered with each bundle.

They will be offering this service, as well as the phone and broadband, as packages, you will turn out paying ONE company for your entire home communication and entertainment service, I say bring it on. Sooner than expected.

I have to say i was pretty sceptical when i heard this too, but, knowing the Source, its the truth.

Cant wait.

The Source did describe the "Router/decoder" in detail, both visually and in function, this leads me to believe that they might be carrying stock. So yes, i think were in for a nice little surprise in a couple of weeks.

Lets all keep our fingers crossed.

regards.

Saff.

Sounds good, but too many good concepts/ideas had been ruined by poor execution. We will see.........

hrm.. only thing is with an offering like that maybe adsl costs will get a kick knee jerk style.

Rule of thumb - if it sounds too good to be true, it is just that - Too Good To Be True.
