Is something brewing between Vodacom and iBurst?

The latest broadband figures indicate that Telkom holds just over 50% of the broadband market, Vodacom 33% and iBurst 8%. Control of iBurst by Vodacom will mean that Telkom-Vodacom-iBurst will control around 90% of the broadband market, something which may be frowned upon by the Competition Commission.

Seems most of what was foreseen when word was first released that VC was going to take a share in WBS is coming to fruition despite all the usual denials in the beginning.

Seems the monopolies will never end.
 
Yip, a very clever little scam.

Monopolies will never end, it seems it will either take a civil war to rid SA of them. I think it's just easier to leave SA.
 
Vodacom and MTN were both refused WiFi licenses so the 10% holding in IBurst once again allows gov to stick it to SA consumers by excluding competition
 
You mean Wimax licences? If it wasn't for Iburst's Wimax licence I don't think Vodacom would even be interested.
 
When is it going to end :(:(:( All I see here is another monopoly for many years to come.

BTW hope Neotel is not another GTS scam!! That would be all our hope taken away from us.
