Vodacom enters broadcasting and multimedia

telkoms got nooo hope in that department, the screw consumers and lie to there customers and steal:mad: what is going to make someone cancel Dstv and get telkom IP-TV??

What a waste putting SABC1,2,3 and e-tv in there. Those are just wasted channels.

so these 'dstv select' bouquets will be in addition to 'dstv premium' and 'dstv compact'?

IS News Server still beats this...

maybe if it was those channels and M-Net for R139 we can talk. The general public dont really WANT to be ripped off.

I would have thought, seeing as though 50%of Vodacom is owned by Telkom, they would have done a deal with Telkom's new not-yet-approved-TV-license.
Maybe Vodacom are just as fed up as we are with Telkom taking their money too

“With cellphone penetration in South Africa at over 80%, Vodacom is constantly looking for opportunities to expand its growth horizontally in the market,”

Is it just me or has the word penetration become overused ?? This is the second or third time this week I believe...jeez...talk about frustration hehe..Telkom is penetrating us all...with plastic high prices...

I don't get the article will these channels be available on 3g/dvb-h ?

Penetration, Rape, all the same in this country...

Given than Mnet Series is basically Mnet 2, i can see many people being tempted (if you don't mind not getting movies).

As for the other option, I know of many people who subscribe only because of Kyknet.

Where is the choice?WTF! Vodacom will now be a reseller(sic) of DSTV. I would not advise anyone to take them up on this crappie offer. Dstv compact would then be much better value for money. R139 vs. R199 = no contest. The two allan knott-craigs are very good at making money by selling anything(a la Iburst) by the grain. It seems like the tree does not stand very far from the fallen apple:D I will advise anyone I know to rather go for dstv compact.

only thing, those channels are fairly crap. so much more 'choice' still nothing to watch...

This does not look exciting at all. I thought that Vodacom might shake up the market but this offering is dull. The problem will always be Naspers, they have a cash cow in DSTV and they will never let that go.

Just another Telkom with different clothes.
