Cheap MTN share offer could be a costly call

aaa that explains mtn's increase in price to the cash cows

All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.

They are planning to sell to rural people? They won't find a market for it. They will eventually sell to the big shots.

I love the idea of them trying to educate the rural to invest on the stock exchange!
I think it is the height of recklessness. Here are people who cannot manage their own accounts, trying to "educate" people on investment.

Here's what I think will happen
1. Sell all the shares to a bunch of smucks who hardly know what was given them.
2. Wait out the 12 months (or whatever) holding period.
3. Buy up all the shares from said smucks at a huge discount...because they need to pay of their Edgars accounts...or buy talktime
4. Then sell at profit on the JSE

So I, a WHITE South African and MTN Client for 13 years, will not be able to buy shares.

If MTN doesn't want me to buy shares why should I use their service any longer?

Shame on you MTN.

Forget buying the shares. That for the mindless idiots. Wait until 2 weeks before the end of the holding period and then go short on MTN.

Some of my friends have suggested that a bit of skin-colour leveraging is in
order. Everybody contributes R2000. Would have been worthwhile if it were another stock.

conscriptor. U think the futures market will not already take that into consideration 2 weeks before the end of the holding period? They arent stupid and every1 expects a price decrease. There is no such thing as a free luinch
