Im not sure if I really understood that article.
Very strange.
It basically sums up the ADSL Terms and Conditions, and then argues that these terms and conditions may be against the law (ADSL Regulations).Im not sure if I really understood that article.

They're basically saying that you're not allowed to use your connection to download using P2P applications, or for online gaming. i.e. they're being their usual conceited selves in telling you what you may or may not do with the data that you've paid for. If you breach this, they will take action against you, usually by shaping your connection that uses these forbidden protocols (forbidden according to them at least).Same hereIm not sure if I really understood that article.

do Broadband - South Africa's portal to music, movies, games and more - Powered by Telkom
Its REALLY easy to complain, moan and generally - do nothing, so do something really good today - GIVE your ADSL wifi access away for free, buy a FON.com router and screw telkom - do it in with your whole block get all your friends to do it too and hopefully telkom can then get truly stuffed as by making sure you create a stir, oooops no wait...... I have a better idea be clever and get your local council to give away free adsl access, think of something but to just moan and complain??
Go and see your local MP, create a letter writing campaign we all know that the free unfettered access to the web is the only way RSA is going to make any real money and by empowering ordinary people to do so cheaply you can help yourself too, create an awareness that the 'old' TELKOM is still with us and has not changed, its PR people and you have the tools, don't just whinge, write letters to editors and make this issue matter to politicians too.
BETTER YET, get a new 100gigabyte cable system installed and cut TELKOM completely out of the LOOP and force it to unbundle - it makes great business sense! But noooo its too easy just to sit on your big )&)(*&(*^ assses and complain..... yup you're right I should just give up and join you and complain, its easier than instigating change.
I didn't think anything Telkom does would surprise me anymore. But this one has me flabbergasted!
Should we not then make a complaint that Telkom stop advertising their ADSL products as broadband?
Is this in anticipation of uncapped local? This is the only way such a statement could make sense as Telkom, were it to provide uncapped access would feel threatened that its inadequately maintained backbone will fall over.
