    FNB Outage - 1 July 2022

Appears it is the turn of FNB to have an outage. Seems most of the digital channels have been impacted. Cant even tap your card.

Samsung's Galaxy S22 trade-in deal was 30 times as popular as last year's S21 promotion

Promised payment on 10 June. Still nada. Called the Regener8 number and in Summary - they don't have the funds to pay across to the outstanding trade ins. Waiting for a call back from them to explain further.

Samsung's Galaxy S22 trade-in deal was 30 times as popular as last year's S21 promotion

Hmm, they have had my trade in unit for over a month now and still no word on when likely to receive the trade in funds. Following up on it via e-mail results in a standard message that the promo was popular and they have a backlog. Just not sure how long they expect a person to be patient for.

    Home mesh wifi

That is pretty much what I thought. Just trying to reconcile why a S4, 3 Pack is same price as M4, 2 Pack. M4, 3 Pack is R1000 more expensive than the S4.

    Home mesh wifi

Anyone know what the difference is between the TP Link M4 and S4? Looking through their spec sheets and cant see any differences other than aesthetics.

Pick n Pay exposed delivery customer data online

Is there not a legal process an organisation must follow when a breach like this occurs? (Such as notifying individuals their data was breached?)

    Frogfoot Port Elizabeth

PE is down yet again. This thread never makes it off the front page with their service being off as often as a lady of the night's panties!

    Frogfoot Port Elizabeth

@Frogfoot Fibre are you getting to the end of these outages? We seem to have regressed back to the experience when you first began in PE. If the end is here, then great, but if the experience is to continue, I am not sure many of us are happy to continue. Quite a number on our neighbourhood...

    Make my house alarm smart

Thanks Steamy. That is what I am looking for. Can you point me in the correct direction as to which opto-isolator (specs) you made use of. Will still hook it to the Pi GPIO which is 3V.

    Make my house alarm smart

Had the alarm company here and they don't have any solutions for my generation of alarm, hence why went the route of DIY. Cost to update my panel R10k plus the R50/month. Cost so far to add to my Pi and achieve same - R300 (fob and 2 chanel relay) and no extra monthly cost.

    Make my house alarm smart

Can already arm/disarm. Hooked relay up to the fob and controlled by the pi. Unfortunately alarm is older generation pre wifi, so that is not an option.

IFTTT issue - applets running un-commanded. Security risk.

My setup is a RPi with attached relays and using google assistant and webhooks through IFTTT and use it to perform functions such as opening of garage doors, gates, lights etc. I do pay for the IFTTT service. Three weeks ago, when I fired the applet to open the garage door, it failed. Ok so no...

    Service Level Agreements (SLA)

Anyone in business running fair sized IT shops know about SLAs with ISPs etc. With the move to home working and the increased reliance on home connectivity, are any of the domestic or FTTH providers offering any SLAs other than the one termed 'Best Effort'?
