I now live in the UK and I am streaming from my Plex server back in SA. Threw my GTX 1080 Ti and Ryzen 7 1700 into my server before I left with 32GB RAM. Server is now even more power efficient and I am streaming content happily.

Sad I didn't set this up properly while there. My hardware wasn't geared for transcoding/streaming though, so that stopped me. Ah well!

Signed up for a free month using a code, not bad.
Downloads working.
Plexamp is nice.
Premium Photos, will try
Have been considering Plex Pass for a while. But would rather get the lifetime deal (although it is R1500 now) than another R80-R100 sub monthly. Have been using Plex for many years now and don't plan on stopping so should probably just do it.

Streaming, should not be that rough, as long as it is not heavily shared.

If I do something along these lines, will transcode, everything to 1080p, before I upload, minimise transcoding needs. Tho in retrospect, that might not be that practical.

I just ran everything off of an i3 NUC and it was struggling a bit and with GPU prices being insane, I could justify building a fresh system for myself. Maybe it's time to look at that again.

Had to buy myself a new laptop, my 9 year old one, is showing it's age, unfortunately. Been looking at a NUC but will have to wait for now.

Must admit, very pleased with PlexAmp as a music player on IOS, have all my tunes on Oracle server now and can stream or download as I please, was surprised it worked to be honest after so many complaints on reddit.

Most people on reddit are there because they have issues, and unrealistic expectations. Reddit is not a good indicator of anything as a rule.

Anyone has Plex_autoscan setup on an arm vps?

I'm struggling with python dependencies. It seems not all the python addons if that is what they are called are the same on arm so needing a specific verso of peewee but on arm it's a nightmare.

Plex_autoscan was depreciated, try this:

The problem is I'm not winning with Cloudbox/Autoscan

Used to work fine but now not so much. Series is just not scanning and the log just shows

Mar 6 10:55:07 WRN No target libraries found error=": failed determining libraries" target=plex url=http://185.148.1.189:32400

I have double and triple checked the paths match the series libraries in Plex and double and triple checked the rewrite rules but series doesn't work at all. The very same rewrite rules works well on jellyfin but not on plex. I installed Plex-Autoscan on the one server an immediately works 1000% times better than Autoscan so far.

Why would one run this add-on? Isn't the built-in plex scans good enough to detect file system changes? Mine reacts pretty quickly (within a minute or so).

Sigh. Found the issue...

I run 2 autoscan instances because I have different setups so they listen on different ports. I had the ports mixed up so the libraries weren't matching. Sigh
