Fifa World Cup 2026

I crashed at 2.55am, the hour break between the Scotland game and SA game broke me.

Pity. Sounds like it was a good watch.

Gratz Bafana Bafana!

Aren't you guys imagining things though? There is a good reason why South Africa is there, we competed and qualified, our local teams are very competitive in CAF championship, Sundowns are the current champs, when last did you see a team from Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon or Ivory Coast in the higher stages of CAF champion's league?

There is absolutely nothing out of the ordinary with us compared to the other African teams competing there, Tunisia is the one that is already eliminated having conceded a lot of goals, sometimes I think there is a lot of self hate on South Africans, for some odd reason.

To be fair and not to take anything away from Sundowns, the best players from the countries you listed do not play in their domestic leagues. Ghana and Ivory Coast do not have a single domestic player in their World Cup squads, they all play in foreign leagues.

The PSL and clubs like Sundowns, Chiefs and Pirates also have an enormous advantage over most African clubs because of the resources available to them. I'd imagine only the North African clubs come close to the facilities and resources available to the local Big 3.

We should be dominating African football, or at the very least be perennial contenders, purely off of the resources (money and facilities) available to us.

Anyway, the above aside, it was awesome to wake up to us winning. I couldn't watch the game, but the first thing I done when I picked up the phone was check the result and it was a lekker way to wake up. Going by the highlights and based of the limited commentary in the highlights, we dominated the game and could have come away with a couple more goals. But a good result nevertheless. I think we can take Canada as well if Broos sticks to a positive gameplan.

Got this feeling too listening to the match report. It is a good sign that we created chances. Against more top tier opposition though, those chances will need to be converted.

Excellent performance couldn't get up this morning but brilliant to wake up to the result. Watched the highlights and seems we played some real football this time out and South Korea is no joke, nice to see some resilience in the team and shout out to Sithole, great come back after stinking up the first game.

LOL! Saw the article about the South Korean manager saying they intentionally swapped shirt numbers during friendlies to confuse opposition scouts because they think that Asians all look the same.

Bafana: "Hold my Zamalek".
