Openserve launches 1Gbps fibre-to-the-home

Fibre network operator (FNO) Openserve has announced the launch of its first consumer 1Gbps fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) products.

The FNO, which is the second largest in South Africa, has refrained from offering 1Gbps FTTH until now, while many of its rival networks have offered these products for years.

who the flying **** pays those prices, I was paying just over R900pm for a 1Gbps line on Vumatel 6 years ago and that price was pretty constant until 2025... now this company wants R1,500 for 500Mbps

Wow, by the sounds of that press blurb, they just introduced 10Gbps fibre 😁

Welcome to 2022 Openserve, just don't look over the fence at Octotel neh.

Cool Ideas 1000/500 on OS for 1699.
Damn that is a very attractive price. Compared to Atomic Access R1899. "We’re switching this on where the network is genuinely ready for it, not everywhere at once." what the hell, supply the costomer!!!

I was paying R3000 a month in the 1990s for 56k dial-up, which is about R13k a month in today's money. R1500 for 500Mbps is cheap as chips.

@AfriGuy are you guys going to update the website with openserves 1gig line? Or are we waiting for something?

Doesn't come close to my 8gbps link at about R800 pm (in Europe)

I don't know what to do with it. Haha

Crying that I have to pay 1k for my 100mbps line on openserve.
