The Workout and Fitness Thread

Something like this:

Doesn't seem like a bad option for a "base" when it comes to setting up a home gym... anyone used something like this before?
I'd find out the weight capacity - I'd be worried about heavy weight rolling forward on those extended safety bars. (I have a four post one I've posted previously by TGFitness)

Folds nice and flat. (excuse the dust, this was taken during installation)

EDIT:
I also liked this one: https://www.forceusa.co.za/gym-equi...folding-myrack-spacesaver-foldable-power-rack

Its quite extendable, you can add cable attachments, etc- BUT - it stands away from the wall too much when folded for my garag.

The one you linked looks pretty cool! Now... I just need another million ZAR so I can buy a house on the KZN coast with enough rooms. LOL.

Anyone want to have a system/app built? Hit me up. lol

Stupid decisions were made today. It's been 3 weeks since I could run due to a fall and then illness. Somehow thought it was a good idea to do this

HR was atrocious and I'm about a minute slower than I used to be.

Second run back after illness/knee issues. It's disheartening to see how much my HR has tanked. Hopefully it'll get better in a couple more runs. At least this one counted as base although I had to take some walk intervals.

Recovering is always tough. The hardest part is getting back on the horse and riding.

True. And staying consistent. Last time I was mostly back to normal after about 4 or 5 runs.
I suggest you consider incorporating a couple of light bodyweight resistance sessions into your routine as you get back into it - squats, lunges, calf raises, mountain climbers etc plus some mobility.

Two 30 minute sessions a week can go a long way to preventing running injuries and niggles.

Definitely trying to do that. Although it's more like 10 minutes on an ad hoc basis every 2nd day.

So I lost about 10kgs in 4 months, but now I am struggling to lift the heavy stuff. I used to be able to deadlift 220 every week (PB: 230), and squat 170, but now I struggle with 180 and 130. I know it will come back, but it's moeilik to get back to the heavy stuff.

Also, I get very light headed now when I train. I am thinking of getting a serious pre-workout to get rid of the "I am going to faint" feeling.

I still want to lose about 5 to 8 kgs, but I don't want to lose the ability to lift heavy.

Any advice?

Stats:
Age: 51
Previous weight: 106
Current Weight: 96
Goal weight: 88
Height: 1.81
I gym 5 times per week.

Could light headedness not be related to blood pressure? I had the same symptoms and checked with the doc, it's resolved now.

It might be - I have been on blood pressure meds for about 20 years. Maybe it works too well now, and my blood pressure is too low...
