F1 2026

It's a racing incident: George Russell, Toto Wolff, Jolyon Palmer, Lewis Hamilton, Fred Vasseur and thats from 60 seconds of googling.

Wait... Not on purpose? I thought that's not the other drivers problem? At least make consistent arguments... The FIA's ruling has more to do with the front-axle not being ahead.

Lol

You realise that in an IQ test a plank of wood would likely beat vaaldumme?

If you go back to F1TV and watch his onboard again, all of his speech has been scrubbed.

There is so much manipulation happening at F1 FOM/FIA around these new PU's. They didn't show the speed of the cars during the weekend to hide the fact that their speed dropped towards the end of the straights.

True, but a lot of Russell's anger here comes from the persistent issues he has been having with the PU and battery and the fact that the team doesn't seem to care.

In the full radio, after Russell takes up his grid spot at the end the formation lap, his engineer tells him the battery is fully charged, and everything is 100%. By turn 1 he only had 35% battery and was screwed, and this is something that keeps happening to him.

So yes, these cars are a problem and the powers that be do not like the criticism, but there is more at play where Russell and Mercedes are concerned. He is unhappy with the persistent technical issues and what he perceives to be unequal treatment from the team.

How is it that a software problem takes this long to fix? And why are these cars set up differently software wise?

And that is why the tinfoil hat crowd are having a field day with this. And it isn't being helped by the fact that George has been complaining about it for a while now and Merc have not only ignored him, but Toto has also publicly criticised his driving. And now it comes out that yes, there is a problem with his car.

According to the article, the software is the same, but whatever AI they are using adapts to the driver:

As McLaren team boss Andrea Stella recently explained, the current Mercedes power units feature adaptive logic that gradually learns a driver's habits, adjusting energy management based on their driving style. In the presence of a software fault, this learning process could have further intensified the unwanted behaviour.

These cars are farcical.

Its funny to go back in this thread after the first few races where some of us complained about these stupid regulations but it was defended by most of these DTS fans. Now they singing a different tune.
Even this clown that deletes all his post is now singing a different tune. He forgot that he cant the delete where people quoted his posts.
