There is so much manipulation happening at F1 FOM/FIA around these new PU's. They didn't show the speed of the cars during the weekend to hide the fact that their speed dropped towards the end of the straights.

How is it that a software problem takes this long to fix? And why are these cars set up differently software wise?
As McLaren team boss Andrea Stella recently explained, the current Mercedes power units feature adaptive logic that gradually learns a driver's habits, adjusting energy management based on their driving style. In the presence of a software fault, this learning process could have further intensified the unwanted behaviour.
