What is the process to change from the R1297 package to the R697 package? I know which one I'd rather be paying.

We are having the Dev team correct it; it appears there was a mismatch between the package and the pricing.

@Afrigirl there seems to be a routing issue between 169.1.248.xxx towards my public IP 165.73.

Connection between two devices cannot be established.

Connection over Mobile data (Vodacom) works fine.

I would have like to be closer to 1Gbps though. With my 500Mbps I got constant speeds of around 512Mbps. But not complaining though
I also submitted my 1Gbps via Afrihost app. Still pending. How did you go about getting yours early?

As mentioned yesterday, these orders are failing because the implementation hasn't been fully completed yet. As a result, we have to complete the service change requests manually.

The reason why you got 500 on your 500 package was essentially because it's just a gigabit line of 1024 limited down to 512, the reason you're "only" getting 940Mbps is due to all sorts of things like TCP overhead etc.

The default Gigabit Ethernet has a potential frame throughput of 81000 per second and therefore a high throughput for actual data (about 118 MB/s), giving efficiency of 94%, or 940Mbps.

For you to get 1000Mbps down everything along the line would need to be upgraded to say 2.5Gbps ports and then that gets limited down to 1024Mbps again.

For reference if you didn't know, the max speed of a 100Mbps port is 94Mbps due to the same reasons as your 1000Mbps service only getting 940Mbps.
