Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

International is really bad - I actually got faster speeds when I was on the 500Mbps option. What's going on?

MFN down Pretoria East. @Afrigirl

Anyone know why this keeps happening? Internet down for like 5 to 10 mins then on again. Happens multiple times on certain days. Seems like this issue is always present. What's causing it?

Hi all.
We sincerely apologise for the intermittent connectivity issues some clients may be experiencing.

Our engineers are aware of an incident affecting multiple CDN providers, which may result in intermittent packet loss or degraded performance when accessing services such as Netflix, Google, Apple, and Akamai. The root cause is currently under investigation, and we are working closely with the upstream provider to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

We understand how frustrating this is and appreciate your patience while our teams work to restore normal service. We'll share further updates as soon as more information becomes available.
Hi @Afrigirl , is there an ETA for a fix as it is becoming frustrating to use WARP to get YouTube to be normal. WARP does not work with DStv so stuck there.

Hi.
Mitigation has been implemented by the upstream CDN provider, and services have largely stabilised.

Anyone else still having issues with YouTube buffering?

Switching on CloudFlare Warp resolves the issue then

Hi @Afrigirl @AfriNatic ,

Any news on the slow intl. speeds on 1Gbps?
We apologise for the international speed issues currently being experienced.

To assist with further troubleshooting, we will require additional tests. We are currently setting up an iPerf listening server and will share instructions as soon as it's ready.

What on earth is going on with Vuma? Are they getting sabotaged in my area or something?

Hello.

Below is Vuma's latest update regarding the network incident. There have been no further updates at this stage; only the current diagnosis of the fault.

Mpumalanga C OLT is reporting down again.
The incident has been escalated to the vendor for further investigation.

Here is the correct Network Incident linked to your service: INC000032749. It has been resolved.

Are you currently experiencing issues? @voomvoom

I'm connecting fine now but it was on/off for a bit. I got the incident number from https://vumatel.co.za/network-status , kinda weird that it gave me the wrong number
