I'm not sure what you are referring to, whether you agree or not, the series is four (4) matches, so we haven't won yet, it's really that simple. The match in the U S of A is part of the series.

No, but the history books will say 2 - 2 without further info.
1949 still says 4 - 0 to Boks. All Black fans have a different story as to why. Think they were touring Australia at the same time or something.

The planning around this test is going to be interesting. I'm leaning towards 'n braai after the F1 quali, then shower and on the coach by 10:00 for the build up.

How does it work, what is the format for 2026?
Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry is an alternating quadrennial tour. The first iteration will be hosted by South Africa across August and September 2026. New Zealand will tour and play eight matches; four provincial games against DHL Stormers, Hollywoodbets Sharks, Vodacom Bulls and Lions, and four Test matches at Ellis Park, (Johannesburg), DHL Stadium (Cape Town), FNB Stadium (Johannesburg), preceding a landmark fourth Test hosted at a neutral international venue. Details of the fourth Test will be confirmed in coming months. In 2030, South Africa will tour New Zealand playing provincial sides in addition to a Test series. This format will alternate every four years.

Not just opinion, it's a fundamental on which an away tour is based. Playing 3 tests in South Africa, in an away tour, requires the visiting team to win 2 out of 3 to win the series.
It's been marketed as a 4 test series, it is a 4 test series, but NZ lost the away leg of the series 2-1. The 4th, on neutral ground, is an outlier aka money grab, sport promoting, exhibition match....
It's how World Rugby, marketers, NZU and SARU and capitalists have chosen to structure the alternating quadrennial tour but it defies one simple tradition and fundamental of touring? You play your matches in the hosting country....

But if you look at historical data and results between the 2 nations, you'll find a summary of results categorized by home, away and neutral venue. Categorizing results in this manner is intentional, significant and factually accurate.
In addition to this you will also find data detailing the number of series played between the 2 nations, home and away and the results of said series.
It would be factually incorrect to record this series as a drawn home series, should NZ win on Saturday.
The 4th test was hijacked... smash and grab… that's my story and I'm sticking to it... should have been played in Mbombela or Gqeberha...
