Hisense promises non-intrusive banner ads as free channel line-up grows

Hisense does not show intrusive ads on its TVs in South Africa and currently has no plans to do so. In addition, the banner ads it uses have helped fund a growing bouquet of free channels in the country.

Several international tech publications recently reported that users of certain Hisense TVs in other countries have encountered non-skippable ads in their interfaces when using rudimentary functions.

My bad, was a cache issue in chrome.

I emptied cache and hard reloaded, all good now.

Works fine with uBlock Origin disabled. With it on:



No such problem with other pages. Maybe something in the URL triggering it.

@Jan add "banner" and "ads" to all links to defeat these ad-free freeloaders...

Former Vodacom executive wants SIM card registrations to require biometric verification in SA

Former Vodacom chief risk officer Johan van Graan has proposed requiring biometric verification for SIM card registrations in South Africa.

According to Van Graan, the Regulation of Interception of Communications Act (RICA) is flawed, and requiring facial recognition for SIM card registrations will help reduce SIM swap fraud.

Wrong way around; Starter is the entry package (replaces Access package) , then Select (replaces Family).
