So I explain the reasons and research I did before buying the Chery Q here - https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/threads/geely-e2-apex-pull-the-trigger-or-am-i-going-mad.1346486/

What I wanted to do with this thread is give ongoing updates and experiences with the car which can help others.

We are coming up to 3 Weeks with the car and so far it has been an absolute joy. It took some time for my wife to get use to the size (coming from i10) and all the gadgets... Quite a lot bigger than byd dolphin and geely e2.

In 3 weeks the battery has not dipped below 70% and only charged through solar charging. I have a average setup and with homeassiat and schedules the whole house runs flawlessly even with charging the car for 3 hours on Tuesday and Thursday and similar over the weekends (sunsynk 8kw inverter + 10 x 550 panels). This schedule keep the car topped up close to 100% all the time given my wife only drives to sandton and back 3 times a week from Randburg. And then we use it as run around over weekends.

The car is incredible. Build quality is great. No issues so far.

Please keep us updated on your experience. I'm looking at the Chery Q for my wife as well, she has a daily commute of about 40km's and often sit in horrible traffic (like this morning). The ADAS in traffic is what interests me just to reduce the stress level of traffic - do you have the version that have this and if so, thoughts?

My wife doesn't care much for the ADAS stuff but its still there. I believe you can activate it in traffic and it will automatically follow the car in front in front of you in traffic, go forward, breaking whilst keeping your specified distance. Like I said we have not tested it.

Going on 4 weeks now, not once used eskom to charge, all via Solar.
