Anybody have an idea how many monkeys are pretending to be service consultants at this call centre, currently i am waiting for an hour and a half for some telkom idiot to answer the phone
 
Took 37minutes for them to answer yesterday evening. I must say that the chap at the helpdesk, although very knowledgeable and prompt, was a bit dismissive and blunt.
 
If you absolutely HAVE to phone them try phoning early in the morning.

Is it for a residential or a business fault? If business then use 10217 to report the fault. I got through on that in a few minutes last Friday morning and our line was working again by midday.

It is for residential, but maybe i should pay the extra bit and convert it to a business line if that what it takes to get anything out of telkom

How much is the difference? It might be worth it. We have had pretty good service in getting our business ADSL line repaired here in Joburg. They even send me progress updates by SMS.
 
Tried to call Telkom on 0800 375 375. was on hold for 3hrs 37min on first try. Second try still holding over 3hrs......

Is there anyone working there today ??????

I tried getting hold of a consultant about 6 times on Saturday without luck.
I won't stay on hold for more than 20 min, never mind three hours.
 
I waited patiently for 58 minutes on Friday only to get through to the biggest ignoramus at the call centre. Naturally I got irritated and said something about the "frikkin wait" and had the phone chucked down in my ear for "swearing".

Telkom is a swearword in all 11 official languages.
 
Hmm. I just phoned them and got through instantly.
Seems best to phone while the rest of the country is sleeping.

and our line is down again this morning! :sick:
 
ADSL Call center has too few staff per number of ADSL users. Number was either 25 or 50 consultants at one time. Should be 300
