10 things Ramaphosa should do immediately!

One thing I don't agree with is that Ramaporche must try to save the party. The ANC must fall, tear itself apart, so a new party which is not corrupt to the core can rise up and lead this country.

1 - Apologise to South Africa for the harm caused by a leader the ANC not only failed to call in line, but whose actions they defended.
2 - Ensure those within the party that were complicit in the harm done to SA are ejected from any position of power and influence and do not extend pardons to any ANC member, no matter their current or former position, that may face criminal charges.
3 - Ensure the Hawks are once again independent of government so they can do their jobs without political meddling.
4 - Fix the SOEs. Those that cannot be put on a path of profitability should be sold off *cough* SAA *cough*.
5 - Good luck with free education. Scumbag pulled the pin on a hand grenade with this one.

I think, by just being in the position he is in now; the ANC stand a decent chance of winning next years elections.

We don't actually even need more capacity right now. Quite the contrary. Eskom is facing a serious problem with lower demand. There's already talk that Medupi and Kusile's full capacity might never need to come online.

They also said this in the late 90's...

What an odd statement, why would he go through all the trouble of getting elected and why would the ANC elect him? He is there to save the party and party will draw inspiration from him.

What is on your wishlist?

Help Cape Town!

I am sure there are ways and means to stop Day Zero from ever arriving; under JZ, there was simply no political will.

I don't agree with this one.

Who do you not agree with a move for Fikile?

Wasn't he instructed to do this and already missed the deadline?

IIRC there was an appeal surrounding that issue.

Trevor Manual would be my 1st choice followed by Nene.

Big cabinet reshuffle or even better entire new cabinet needs to be in place by next week.

I think the new finance minister has been in the loop for more than 2 weeks, and Gigaba was instructed to give him free rein.

Trevor may have too many private sector interests to return...?

Just a wish list. He must save South Africa. You can only please the party, not save it. He must put South Africa before his corrupt party.

He is a hardworker and has a positive spirit and attitude about him, we have seen many changes and general improvement since he took over, Ntlemeza gone, Phahlane, Mdluli, and many others including all the corrupt and criminal networks they built during their tenure are crumbling. I agree he has his flaws but al that could be worked on, generally no complaints from me, I think he is the best Police minister we've ever had, unless there's anyone else you can think of?

I really liked the idea posted above about making Mcebisi Jonas Min. of Finance.

If there are any changes to Cabinet, when do you think it will be announced? Obviously he must meet with the affected persons and/or new incumbents first - or not?

ANC cadres get deployed at the party's pleasure. They have little choice in the matter and Pravin even said so himself.

It does not mean they cant humbly reject the offer though, as for me i am just a little tired of recycled ministers in finance, is it not about time we get someone new? We have many capable and highly accomplished individuals to do the job.

And then?.. Rolling blackouts? The capacity was there. It was just poorly maintained and poorly supplied with fuel due to the Zupta machinations. Anyway... I digress. I have nothing against state of the art nuclear, but the deal must be right, and we must have the funds. Last time I checked Medupi and Kusile ended up costing us more than several large nuclear stations would cost in more sane countries and they were struggling to fill up tax (cough! cought!.. rotten corruption) holes by increasing VAT.

Trust him at your peril.
