I've just commissioned a line using the self install / verifyadsl feature and it's come back during the verification procedure as being a 10Mb line.

Which ISP can give me a 10Mb connection on this line?

Currently WA allege that they can. From 1 June, all ISPs should be able to....

ffs! June 1st cant come fast enough! im dying for the speed upgrades. I hate it when u call telkom and they tell u that they have no idea when it will be launched and its currently only for trial users... blah blah blah. I'll bet any1 that Telkom are capable of releasing it right now if they wanted to.

OK Guys, this is where I stand now. MWEB can't give me a 10Mb circuit and the guy flatly stated that he has no idea when they'll be able to deliver 10Mb service to customers.

WA can, but not uncapped.

We've been experimenting with an IS ADSL via Axxess and it's OK, but not as nice as the MWEB ones.

Suppose I should maar look around to see what else is out there.

Or wait just a little bitty...

I'm thinking of doing just that. Line install, ADSL install, then still pro rata billing from an ISP means that the first month on any ADSL is very unpleasant.

Surely Telkom is gong to bring something to table package wise. They must of lost quite a few users to Mweb due to their uncapped offering, so i PRAY we will see 10mbit along with bigger caps atleast.
Iv heard a few people say Telkom is not going the uncapped route :(

It can't happen soon enough.

When you do the self intall verification, it's a voice and adsl thing. The person at the Telkom call centre gives you an order number that you need to enter onto the verification site. When it came back as being a 10Mb line, he was slightly confused and told me that Telkom themselves would only be able to offer clients 10Mb ADSL service after the sporting event that we aren't allowed to mention.

I'd love to only have one comms bill to pay at the end of the month. Now it's Telkom, MWEB, IS, MTNNS and Vodacom.

Telkom does do uncapped offerings, but its only for business clients, they not interested in general public uncapped at this time, at the end of they day they still make money off the uncapped offerings from many of the other providers. But mainstream for the home suer i would not expect to see any uncapped offering any time soon.

by big caps are we talking double digits here? 50gig int would sort me out nicely

My line verification stated the same, this is a static page however, and was changed to reflect the incoming changes a'la June 1st.

SOME are already experiencing speeds upwards of 10Mb/s -but these are selected trial areas:sick:

150gb, don't think that will sort me out. Then again last month was a big month, i know i exceeded 200gb, but seeing as i am uncapped my provider only provides uncapped packages there is no reason for them to actually setup a monitor on their site.

I only have netlimiter installed don 1 pc and that did just shy of 200gb, my work pc would probably did under 10gb, not sure really.

Hey CranialBlaze, how much are you pulling a month on your uncapped radio link to us?

Normally i can track about 80 - 110gb per montt, but as i said above, last month was abig one so i am sure i borke 200GB, that was mostly because i was download the entire Dragon Ball Collection in high quality avi rips instead of that rubbish rmvb.

I have 2 machines, 1 for work and 1 as a MCE/Downlaod PC. I only run netlimiter ont eh MCE machine, but for this year.
