I Phoned them. They a bunch of idiots - says their site might say 10mbs, but it doesn't mean the exchange is ready yet. Could be a few days - weeks and it should automatically be up and running. Yeah right!

LOL - u guys crack me up!
Thanks anyway
Phone back and ask them EXACTLY why you cannot get 10Mbps.
Is your port on a 10Mbps enabled DSLAM?
Is it due to lack of ADSL2+ ports on the DSLAM?
How many DSLAMs are in your exchange?
If more than one, why can they not move you to a 10Mbps enabled DSLAM?
Is it due to the condition of your copper cable connection?
Is it due to the length of your copper cable connection? (distance to DSLAM)
If it is any of the above (except the last one) then demand that they give you a ref number as you demand 10Mbps service as advertised and confirmed on their website or else they are in contravention of the CPA.
Do not let the call centre agent BS you. As soon as they start spluttering ask to speak to the call centre manager. If they argue, refer them to their own Code of Practice: http://www.telkom.co.za/general/termsandconditions/downloads/standard/Code_of_Practice.pdf
I have 2 lines, 1Mbps and 10Mbps. Both work as paid for!tell me, what speed line are you running at the moment?
Well, i just got a reference number as i have been waiting a month for my port to be upgraded from 6mb to 10mb. let's see where it goes from there
but i would recommend getting a reference number like MickeyD stated.
