Yeah I think you should expect the upgrade no later than Friday this week if not something might be wrong.

YEs that means the order is still open. So when that goes green you should be upgraded but your upgrade can also take place before that. I think you need to be worried if it stays on executing for a long time or goes to cancelled ot done but the line speed did not change.

lol will wait then its because of the easter weekend...they even close today

Just chatted with the Telkom team about this specific upgrade, and I have some bad news. The upgrade was blocked due to poor line stats on the noise margin side. Although you're close to the ISAM unit, the quality of the copper there is not the best and the SNR is too high for 10Mbps. A 4Mbps will likely be approved, but not sure 10Mbps is ever going to get through the new auto-system checks required before line upgrade approval is given.

Lets be honest here that is rubbish.... Then I suggest he logs a fault because my attenuation is so much higher.... I mean I have a attenuation of 39dB and running on 10Mbps so I suggest he log a fault let the technician come and fix.

It's not about attenuation. It's about the noise. And in this case the new automated checks won't allow the upgrade through as the noise margin won't support 10Mbps.

Then they shouldve told me my line is not eligable for an upgrade...like they told my friend, they told me its possible must she upgrade it?lastly my friend 2 flats from mine is on 10mb thats y i changed to 10mb

I think log a fault and explain to the technician that comes out to your house. I'm not sure how lines work in your area but all out lines are under ground. They happen to have a lot of extra lines too so when my line went faulty they fixed it for me by putting me on a spare line.

After that my line is running 100% with a Attenuation of 39dB and a SNR of 10dB while syncing on 10Mbps..... A very good line.

Your friend's line may be on a different copper line with better copper quality. My advice would be that you should rather upgrade to 4Mbps then have a look at your line stats. It's not just your exchange that determines your sync speed.

ill wait till friday...if speed didnt change, than i think i dont have an option than to log a fault and have a techie out

the same block...im no.6 and hes no.8
That changes things!!

There is probably an issue in the cable riser or on your end (POTS filter and/or modem).

Swop out your POTS filter and modem with your mate and do another test.

If you get similar results as when using yours, then it's a cable issue within the building.
