Hey, have any of you guys previously requested an line upgrade from 10mbps to 20mbps and how long did you have to wait for it to happen?

I am also interested in this, as well as whether it was changed to 20Mbit ADSL 2+ or VDSL?

Was there any down time involved?

You guys are lucky. The maximum I can get is 4mb. I tried a 10mb line for 3 days and it was a disaster, nothing faster than 2mb

on ADSL Checker it said the maximum speed in our area is 20Mbps.
I applied for a 20Mbps VDSL line, and Telkom informed me that they would sends someone out to upgrade my 10Mbps line to the new speed.
On Thursday a Telkom techie arrived, and noticed that my line kept losing sync. He went back to the exchange, and phoned me later to inform me that the maximum I could hope for was 10Mbps.

Seems you win some, and then you lose some.

We did it - it was quick - around a week. There were some snags, but just read the other threads and you should be fine.

After 4 days my order was still not proccessed so I managed to find a contact on another site that works in Telkom Networks that was able to complete my order and my sync speed changed from 10Mbps to 13.2Mbps.... I'm too far for full 20Mbps adsl2+ but on the 20Mbps profile. I'm happy because from Do premium Plus to Do Elite is just R17 more a month. :) Also the retail price might even decrease for Telkom due to the wholesale price drop for 20Mbps and 40Mbps.

Question to those on VDSL, have they LLU'd? Are they also charging it on their fiber?
