I see alot of talk about 10mb lines how is this going to work and how much more are we going to pay for it. I have a 4mb line now will I be able to upgrade?
Sorry if this was already answered in another thread but I didn't see it.

As far as I know, if you want uncapped you're gonna have to pay more for a 10mbps line, but any prepaid adsl should stay the same price and still allow you to use the full speed of your line.

If you're on a 4mbps line now, you should be automatically upgraded without paying more, but only IF your line can support 10mbps.

Except if you are with Cybersmart. They are so backwards, they charge different prices for 3GB of capped data depending on line speed, and this is on a DATA-ONLY account, which excludes any ADSL line rental fees:

384kbps line - R125 for 3GB capped data, on a data-only account (i.e R41 per GB)
512kbps line - R185 for 3GB capped data, on a data-only account (i.e. R61.66 per GB)
4096kbps line - R225 for 3GB capped data, on a data-only account (i.e. R75 per GB)

These a**holes at Cybersmart rape you on the cost of capped data (lowest is R41 GB!), whereas the industry standard is now well below R30 per GB. Then they still have the audacity to charge you more for a faster line.

Expect to pay upwards of R100 per GB to Cybersmart when 10mbps lines are launched.

Stay away from CyberDOM.

I am with Axxess Uncapped. So they are going to upgrade all 4mb lines to 10 mb with no extra cost p/m?
