So I logged onto 123net's website yesterday and they said my area is covered for fibre so I sent in a request for them and they said my area is covered for "Air Fibre".

Im currently on rain LTE and I want to know if "Air Fibre" is better than LTE and what are the speeds like and also if the latency is better than LTE.

They said they can send out a technician to my house to check out the feasibility of it. What are the type of questions I should be asking them once they come out to my house?

"Air Fibre" is a very fancy word to mislead the consumer. It's basically Wireless like a WISP.

The only "Air Fibre" is when the WISP has fibre to the tower and you are on a dedicated, licensed, carrier grade wireless "last mile" link. Those radio links start around R80K for a very entry level link.

Mikrotik, Ubiquiti, Mimosa, Cambium point to multipoint wireless to the client is not "Air Fibre".

The first two questions to ask:

1. Please take me to the POP I'll be connecting to, to see the fibre terminating in the POP.
2. What Point to Point equipment will you be installing? How do you plan on amortizing the cost of the equipment?

If they were to confess that they're trying to sell you snake oil hidden behind jargon, ask them what equipment they are running, what the distance is from the tower, what the sector to CPE ratio is, whether they do PPP on the CPE on the roof, or the router in the house and what the upgrade path is if you want a faster connection down the line.

We've been selling wireless internet for 13 years and will not offer a client more than 20Mb on a point to multipoint connection. We also do not guaranty ping times in point to multipoint as there are simply too many variables.
