Ok, I see it. Your e-mail was forwarded yesterday morning at 11:33. Please keep in mind that there are a lot of people that needs to be contacted.

They WILL get back to you. ;)

From 19 July to 28 July is 9 days.

But I'm used to waiting with VM

On the 19th of July you send me a e-mail with your details. There was no VM number.

I replied immediately and asked for you vm number. Then you e-mailed it to me.

That same day I forwarded your vm number to Virgin Mobile.

On the 20th of July you send me a e-mail telling me that you want to use it with your Nokia 6230i.

On the 25th I got a e-mail from Virgin Mobile telling me that it is difficult to get hold of everyone they need alternative info. So then I made this post.

On the 26th of July you send me a e-mail again telling me that you now have to use it with your data card. That was 10:05pm.

On the 27th of July I replied telling you that the 64k sims doesn't work with the data card and that they currently have issues with the 128k as well. That was 9:35.

Also on the 27th of July you asked me how do you get a 128k sim. So I replied to you telling you that I need your info. Not just your vm number.

Then you sent me your details and I forwarded it immediately to Virgin Mobile.

So far I tried my best. And believe me they are working on it. Like I said, they have a 48 - 72 hours waiting period. You e-mailed me all your details yesterday so they will probably phone you today or early next week.

Thanks a lot Piesang for all your help. I really appreciate it - especially since it's not your job - I mean you dont work for VM.

Sorry for all the trouble.

No problem. It's no trouble either. I'll help you guys until this thing is sorted. Busy playing around with all kinds of setting and stuff at the moment.

Will keep you guys posted.;)

Besides, Virgin KNOW who you are because they needed everyone's ID number and cell number to buy the starter pack in the first place.
Strange, I didn't give them anything (except my cash). Just asked for it and got it no questions asked.

Vodacom and MTN has got vodacom3g and MTN Data Dude who deal with everyones problems. Until Virgin Mobile has got someone that can be on the MYADSL forum I'll try my best to help.

I'm just doing all you guys a favor, this is not my job.
Hmm, sounds like you're lobbying for the position. ;)

ps. Could we delete this thread once its purpose is done so we can get Piesang's post count back to normal :D

Any way to block these annoying signatures people put at the end of their posts? Or at least stop them from putting it in huge letters?
Just go to 'Edit Options' in your usercp and deselect 'show signatures'. ;)

* bye bye signatures ***

Hi Guys

FYI

Got a call from Samantha of VM this afternoon to inform me that they called back all the 128k sim for datacards that was sent out, because there is a problem with the batch,I told her that I did not receive my one yet, but all was called back ,they will phone you personally to inform of problem batch. The next batch will only be ready from the 14 -16 August 2006.Regards.

Nu sims for data cards

yeah, it's nogal 'n pity we gotta wait for the sims to be replaced, I'm sure a lot of us got the VM sim specifically for VM's data, the cheaper phone calls are just a bonus..... but for me it will be worth the wait.
50c/Mb vs R2/Mb (or even R1) can't be beat.
I am currently testing a Sierra Wireless aircard and the VM sim works very well.... I get consistent 175-190 kbps doing speed tests, while with the MTN sim in I get ave 90kbps... so what's that... double the speed, at a qtr of the price :-)
Now I just need to get the VM sim to work in the MTN E620 HSDPA card, which I've ordered from iTalk Cellular at R460pm, which includes an IBM laptop and R300 airtime (2xMyChoice150) which I will give the wife for phone calls (save on her a/c). I figured this not so bad price, I u take away the R300 airtime, it works out at about R160pm for the HSDPA/3G/Edge data card and laptop, which I can then use fulltime with VM data.....
I got a Duxbury USB Edge modem also at my co to test (luckily I'm in IT so I get a few modems I can test), that also doesn't work lekka with Vm... it seems to connect... but disconnects everytime after a few seconds (???!).
so we wait with great expectation / anticipation for the nu (working) 128k sims.

Hi, got your PM. Was away for the weekend.

I'll be forwarding all the details I received over the weekend first thing tomorrow morning.

But please be patient as I think they will only contact you guys when the new stock arrives mid August.

PS. My pleasure to help.
