Man is his head and ego going to get SO much bigger than it already is
"I came to the Games hoping to get into the finals and I went into the finals hoping to get any medal whether it's a bronze silver or gold; I just wanted to do well and the fact that God blessed me with the silver I'm very happy," said a beaming Mokoena, who believes there are still members of Team South Africa that are going to do well in the Games.
lol, must be the reason why Bob Beamon's 8.90 is STILL the current Olympic record.......since 1 9 6 8![]()
True, 2200+ must have helped a lot, but Powell has shown that it can be done at sea level. Would have loved to see Powell repeating that jump in Mexico CityOr it could have something to do with altitude...
I haven't been checking the Olympics out so forgive my ignorance, but WTH happened to our swimmers? They did so well last year.![]()
Looking at their times, they've all swum faster than in 2004. Even the 4x100m team who set a WR (and won gold) in Athens improved their time by 4sec!
IMO, they were lucky to win the gold last time round. That doesn't make the 2004 medal any less valid - but people shouldn't add the pressure of depending on them to repeat that performance.
One medal and we are all deliriously happy!
Pathetic. We are supposed to be the leading country in Africa and look at who is doing better than us, Zim, Kenia, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Togo, maybe a few more.

Even more useless post
Have you ever met him? I have, on 3 occasions, there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance.
Now compare him to someone like Micheal Johnson & Frankie Frederiks, two of the nicest guys i have met, and they actually have a reason to be arrogant, yet they aren't.
