Thanks, thinking this might be good enough for me.
To be honest I wish I took the s10+ I like the twin rotatory mop pads over the friction one, but the cost was alot more at the time .
Fnb was running a black friday promo on them and I thought what the hell it's worth the try. When I looked into them I wanted the one with lidar and the s10 was one up from the e10 and didn't cost much more.
Looking back I wish I took the plus but just like the airfryer we got I didn't want to go all out on something I wasn't sure on

Thanks for the additional info.

I'm also looking at price and the S10+ is still under R10k so might stretch the budget to get that model. I had a hectic December - spent like a sailor so need to think carefully before impulse buying

Thought of a decent use case

We recently added a braai room which leads outside to a pool. With rug rats running in and out, one of its entertainment purposes is to be somewhat of buffer room with wet feet and grass clippings being trampled through before the chaos causing entities enter the main house

With the recent addition of the S20+ for the main house, the braai room inherited the now old Mijia 1C. The 1C's now sole purpose is to keep that room clean ( can't use the S20+ due to a security gate ). So I was thinking of a remote / hidden physical button close to the braai room but in the main house that would trigger a clean instead of having to find the phone, open the app, select the vacuum, wait for the map to load, click Clean....cos app'ing is haaaaard :S
Taking this one step further.

The initial idea was to use an ESP32 and run a cable through existing in-wall conduit to a physical button close to the braai room. I do however have an IR receiver for the ESP32 knocking about. So I'm going to make use of it and program a button on the TV universal IR remote to be the trigger instead. Because running cables is haaaaard :S

Zigbee battery operated switches win here.

I hate batteries ! Unless they're attached to the inverter :)

Jokes aside, I don't have a Zigbee network ( yet ), so sticking to WiFi where possible...now with a touch of IR

My Xiaomi mop lite without the lidar and mapping is in a box in the Wendy house now.
It crashes into everything.

Rather pay for the LiDAR and proper. mapping.

The cleaning station is a bonus. It dries out the mop pads for you, so no mould and mildew.
It collects the dust in a large bag. It also keeps a few liters of water for mopping.
Over a few years of use, you’ll find that the extra few k you spent on it would be worthwhile.

It will probably take 20 minutes a month to clean and maintain the thing.

Was very impressed with it. I didn't expect much and on watching it the first time I actually thought to myself "it's stupid, the thing isn't that great".

But after it did it's mapping and sorted itself out it's awesome.

Lidar is a must.

I have to clean the dust bin every day, still having a issue whereby it's wetting the filter randomly which effects the vacuuming. But I'll figure it out.

Once a week it gets a deep clean

At the time the one with the docking station with all the gizmos was like 20k.

i really like it but im not willing to pay that.

Ja, 10k is the price to look for.

Bwahahaha. It works :D

Programmed in Clean and Return to Dock buttons. #Winning

Couldn't you have taken it with you when you visit the beach house instead of buying two?

Originally it was bought for the holiday home as we have a cleaning service at home.

Then we saw how well it worked at home, we decided to use it between the two properties but quickly saw the inconvenience of only having one. As my wife uses the holiday home each weekend we decided that a R2K robovac was not a big expense.

I'm curious as to what everyone's use cases are for integrating vacuums into HA other than " integrate all things ".

My first thought ( as mentioned in a previous post ) was to clean when we leave the house between say 09h00 and 17h00. If we come home, it can scuttle back to the dock.

I personally haven't integrated yet as I'm prone to trigger manually when the place needs a clean. I prefer to lift up dining room chairs etc. for a proper clean.

Any other cool automation ideas ?

I'm going to hardcode set hours to vacum with light mop during "low-traffic" hours before lunch.

For deep cleans, I would also do it as a manual run. I'm already seeing how this is going to change the layout of my house. Just raised my couches a a few cm to for easy access underneath. Repositioning a couple of other things in the house to make lifting furniture easier.

@spiff gives a further short/medium term review. Im very keen on the s10+ but being swayed by the auto empty stuff
