1st Robovac suggestions

I am interested in getting a Robovac for use in the apartment.

Currently the leading candidate seems to be the Xiaomi E10 @ around R3000 as it vacuums and mops.
Is Xiaomi still a good option these days?

So looking for something that vacuums and mops, that has spares and customer support.
After sales support also needed.
Being able to replace battery later on would be good too.

There seems to be alot more available these days than a few years ago.

Personally I am looking at the Xiaomi S10+, but I would probably lean towards the S10 in your case..

I am in Durban, so I checked and Bennett Reid has a service centre in Durban whereas Xiaomi does not.

I have returned 2 crappy Bennett Read products before, so I don't buy the brand.

I have a older Bennet read. I had one of the first irobot models before that.
For a first model I'd say its decent. Mine gets filled with dog hear pretty quick and only runs on tiles but its fairly good at covering the floor.
I have a maid twice a week so only really use it to keep things neat the rest of the time.

I don't know, I have got about 20 Xiaomi products and haven't returned one yet.


If the Bennett Read is crap then Makro will refund you.
You'll know after a week if its any good.
 
Temu sell the Xiaomi consumables for decent prices if you need to replace those.

I bought this a few weeks ago. all I can say WTH did I wait so long. Fortunately my house is 90% smooth tile with only the 2 bedrooms been wood laminate.

this robvac is awesome. takes less than an hour to clean the entire house - that's vac & mop

damn tiles look brand new now. No hair (girlfriend) a gecko will get stuck its so clean

I've also noticed it can spot a piece of dirt - turn around and target the dirt then resume pattern.

the mapping is excellent.

The second one, the first one doesn't have Lidar and will do a **** job while smashing itself to pieces in no time.

You've just bought a rebranded Xiaomi (which was a rebrand of Dreame in the first place in most cases) but without the Lidar it's going to rely on bump dynamics and no actual intelligence.

Don't know where you fell out with local support...Xiaomi is the only brand locally with any support the rest is just punted rebrands by every other shop.

No idea why I offered advice in the thread if you just went and effectively bought a no name brand piece of kak anyway without any real savings.

The irony being the S10+ is cheaper than the S10 now..hopefully he didn't actually pay the currently listed price for what should be a R2999 robot vacuum.
