I there guys i have an server with MikroticOS on it i have on adsl line on it at the moment i want to add another one and combine the 2 so it will put out 1 line on the other side any help on how to do it please...

A friend of mine was involved with a company in the UK called SharedBand, that does exactly this. www.sharedband.com

However, I have my misgivings on whether this would actually work to boost your speed.

Does anyone here perhaps know how Telkom's contention ratios work?

I've always suspected that adding an additional ADSL line won't help, because if I download at full speed from both, it's likely that the speed on each would be halved.

I've heard that ADSL contention ratios are in the region of 40:1 and that it's per exchange.

Thanks Gunny.

Though I suspect load balancing won't help much if your aim is to max out both ADSL lines.

I'll speak with my mate at SharedBAnd, though I suspect BT ADSL might behave differently.

Just use a dual WAN ADSL modem but be careful when choosing the manufacturer. We have tested some that turned out to be highly unstable. With a dual WAN ADSL modem you double your throughput.

Just take note that this was only implemented in ROS 3.10, and you carrier must support it.
