Excuse my noobness, but when I checked my usage in the Telkom tracking tool I noticed it had 2 connections instead of one.
Is this something new?

Is the second connection from a different landline number?

Well there is only one pc and one landline in the house so I doubt it.

If that facility you are using allows you to see the port number of the connections, make sure that the port number is the same.
Two connections can happen normally when you don't properly close down the existing ppp (ADSL) connection and then connect again. e.g. Rebooting the router.
One of the connections should disappear in 15 minutes or so, when it times out.
But, if the ports are different then that means somebody is using your connection on a different line.

Eish the tracker doesn't show the port numbers. Do you know of a tracker that does?

I don't have a telkom account any more ... but I'm pretty sure that there was some way to see your port number there .... one of the usage history thingamajigs or something.
