2-for-1 Mobile Topups [19 Nov 2013]

Our standard top up rates are R99 per GB. While 2-for-1 topups are running clients will be able to top up at an incredible R49.50 per GB, the lowest top up rates in the market at time of going to press - and without signing a long term contract or paying a large upfront lump sum.

2-for-1 Topups will become available at certain times during the month until the end of the year, at which point the offer may be extended. Eligible clients will be able to access 2-for-1 Topups in ClientZone, our mobile App or via SMS, in the same way that they currently manage DSL Topups.

We are already giving an incredible R44 million to existing and new clients through FREE devices and savings on data. In addition to this we are adding even more awesome to our offering with 2-for-1 Mobile Data Topups.

These promotional top-ups are well-priced (and well-intentioned), but not much use when you log in to buy, only to find that it's already over.

Afrihost - you've told me that the promotions were for a limited period. Fine, but it would be much more useful to your customers if you would also announce what the "open window" period is, so that we can take advantage of these offers.

The fact is that I needed to top-up, and I was aware there was a limited time. If I'd known it would be for 1 day, or 2 days or whatever I would have acted accordingly. With it being rather vague, I figured this morning would be fine. But it wasn't.

Frankly, with this and that bundle reduction you just announced (and the fact that you recently used the words "effective rate" in your marketing) I'm going to be re-evaluating my options again.

And instead of reverting to the R99/Gb top up price, I've gone for better value with the Telkom 2+1 for R149.
