2 Gbps Broadband Connection Anyone?

From what I gather this is a UK government initiative.

Rofl, using the words 'government' and 'initiative' in this country in the same sentence should be a crime in itself.

I did preface it with UK on order to give the statement some creditability :p

I'm still trying to work out just how much data you could theoretically transfer over like a year...what is 1000TB called again?? :-)

This is the prelude to IPTV - the telcoms are pushing it over there. Next big thang.

How long would you think it takes to download the internet if you have enough storage, if hypothetically such a thing is possible.??? A few months? A year or 2?

I'd run out of stuff to download in about 4 days.
Whoa.

Aha... but herein lies the catch 22... the internet would be your hard drive... no need to download...

Now that would really take the fun out of it... be thankful for Telkom... (NOT!)

Wanting anything more than 192kbps is just being greedy.

...their symmetric 10 Mbps service will cost users just under R 100-00 per month

10 times Telkoms best effort at about a tenth of the cost. WOW
