Hi Guys,

I've got a quick question about DNS for my IP Cams I hope someone might be able to answer.

I've currently got one IP cam setup with a DNS and wanted to know if I could use that same DNS for another IP cam, effectively being able to access either one of the two depending on which port I specify?

Any help would be massively appreciated
Thanks!

Depending on what router you have, it is doable provided you can setup NAT's or Port forwards

Ok I see. I do know how to port forward and all that. Is there anything specific I should know about the actual ports or NAT?

You could do this with two IP cameras as in this example:

IP Cam1: 10.0.0.8:80
IP Cam2: 10.0.0.9:82

Assuming you can change the IP cameras port numbers?

Then port forward on your router (with your single DDNS name) as follows:
Port 80 --- 10.0.0.8 port 80
Port 82 --- 10.0.0.9 port 82

You could leave both IP cams on port 80 for example, and then specify the port forward for router port 82 --- 10.0.0.9 port 80

This can get a bit confusing to keep track of, so rather use different port numbers for each camera.
