2 isp accounts simultaneously on 1 line?

So bottom line torrentz is superior

Torrents were easier to use for me, especially having one or two places to get the torrent files from. With NZB's I still get incomplete downloads sometimes. Biggest advantage with NZB's is it is not illegal. Very small risk but you never know. Also with NZB's its always line speed, not dependent on seeders, especially for older stuff.

Less illegal rather?

Amounts to the same thing for me: free content.

Each have their pros and cons.

NZB's have a steeper learning curve, but many prefer them once they know what they're doing.

Still magic to me how a corrupt file can be quickpar'd back into usable state with a par2 a fraction of the size of the problem file

Quickpar helps but is also limited. Torrents do almost the same with hash checks to see if a block is damaged. Advantage is the blocks are much smaller.

Anyway, nzb's are only illegal in terms of copyright violation. Torrenting on the other hand could lead to criminal charges. Very small risk but its there.

Hi
Is there anyway to have 2 seperate accounts and share the wifi.

I have a uncapped afterhours account that only runs at 50k during the day. (This account is setup in the router).

I also have a capped account which i dial up but then i cannot access irs wifi.

Many thanks

Johnathan

Same solution detailed above should work over WiFi too:

Setup after hours account in router
Dial the capped one from whichever PC needs to use it

Note: Guests and mobile devices will be limited to 50k when on WiFi...

Hi Budza
I do that but I need the tablets and phones to use the faster account during the day and the uncapped account at night

To do that look at the first posts in this thread, use a Mikrotik or a PFSense PC. Both will cost you (mikrotik probably cheapest) and both are difficult to implement for a novice (I haven't used either, but from all the feedback Mikrotik is the hardest to learn).

2 Things,

1. Having one account in modem and dialing up with a second account on the PC - must you have a modem that supports bridge/half-bridge? (Currently have a Netgear DGN2200 but doubt it supports bridging); I do have a Cisco though and I think this one does.

2.In terms of Pfsense on Virtual, isn't it a bit risky and better rather to have Pfsense on physical box? I suppose your modem is placed in bridge so that your virtual Pfsense can control your internet connections, but does this not mean that, (a) when your master pc (with your vitual Pfsense on) goes down so goes your internet connection for all devices until you remove the bridge from your modem. (referring to connection for wireless devices) and

With Pfsense in virtual how do you connect a wifi device (seeing as your network is now controlled by Pfsense) or do you place it in half-bridge in order to get Pfsense and/or direct modem connection?

Thanks for the info

Half bride mode allows you to dial from PC AND have account details on the router.

I have that Netgear supplied by Telkom. It allows me to dial another account without changing any settings.

I keep getting the same error as Thor earlier, username / password not recognized. The login is correct, and it connects if I save it in the router itself (passthrough is enabled, and it is in half bridge).

What aggravates me the most is the fact that it worked earlier tonight, yet now refuses to accept the login....

Stupid question, but are you sure the cap is not reached? Assuming its a capped account?

( That is what caused my issue )
