I tried it with a 2.1A charger with no success. Will try to increase the current and see if that helps.

Friend of mine uses his with a small external drive and I used mine with self powered small drive as well as self powered drive no problems. Sony and Samsung chargers.

Wonder if something else is not the issue.

I just added the max_usb_current=1 and this seems to have resolved the problem. My HDD spins up and I can access the drive. Thanks for all the help
