Telkom is on its way to meet its ADSL target of at least 700 000 subscribers by 2011

Current estimates indicate that Telkom is on its way to meeting its target of ADSL customers equating to 15-20% of Telkom’s fixed access lines by 2010/2011.

It says there will between 1.5 - 2 Million connections, mostly 3G/HSDPA (1 mil) by then and the rest will be made up of Telkom/Neotel/other wireless. (It says roughly 800 000 with Telkom by 2011, basically the same as Telkoms target of at least 700 000)

It could be possible, depends what happens in 2009 with Seacom.

Most of these connections are business connections and not private connections. The problem is that internationaly other countries are still way ahead of us in regards to their residential connections.

How many ADSL installs are there currently?

For example, there are 1Million subscribers, - so its 1 million MORE in 2 years..

1 000 000 / (365 * 2) = 1369.86

thats 1369 ADSL installations PER DAY
