20% free airtime

They have once again forgotten about their Contract Subscribers (Thier loyal subscribers).

Contract subscribers get free minutes and favourable call rates iirc. Prepaid users don't...

It never ends! and the data bundle prices are suspicously similar accross the operators?
price fixing? maybe not
more like everyones making a killing at the expense of the consumer!
I'm just pissed cos I recharged 2 days ago

Nothing, I presume. Considering the data bundles aren't considered airtime. Would be nice though...

Loaded sim with money and got an extra 20% - then got data :D

about time i only get R12 vouchers so i hope i get something a little more than that.

Well prepaid users have always been ripped off and this is much welcomed (I'm on contract, so it does not effect me but some free weekday minutes would be nice)

what does this mean for PPDB users?

If you go to Pic a Pay and buy a R1000 voucher for R975, you will get R200 over and above the normal R1100 worth of value to use as you like, even for PPDB. I am using this for a long time and bought in December these kind of vouchers when 10% additional was given.

Your effective data rate will therefor be way lower as on contract, namely 975/1300 or 75% of the normal cost. For R975, you can get 3 times a 2 gib bundle and still have R133 worth of airtime remaining. Your effective cost per MB drops from 19c to 14.25 c/MB

Well so much for this:

PREPAID PURCHASE UNSUCCESSFUL
The following error(s) were found
- Cell service provider is offline (ER 91)

Cellphone Service Provider: Vodacom airtime

EDIT: a few attempts it went through eventually, alot of people attempting to buy airtime now?

I don't find the fact that they are similar or even identical in some data bundle offers since we can expect competitors to match each other. What I don't appreciate, is that they don't try and undercut other members of the cartel. No, that is not competition, but simply collusion.
