Have any of you owned one? If so I would like to know your experience with this car?

Would appreciate any insight before I go test drive one tomorrow.

It is out of service and warranty plan, but will probably take out an extended motor warranty from hollard.

BTW my other option is a Renault Clio 3, I was surprised how pleasant it was to drive.

I would stay away from 2nd hand diesel and turbo charged cars.
Might cost you allot of maintenance fees etc, hopefully the turbo is covered by the extended motor warranty!

I am pretty sure you will enjoy the drive in the car, ford focus is really decent cars!

This. If it's got a FSH and is still clean, and if you must have it then make sure that the cover on the extended motor warranty is comprehensive enough. The last thing you want to be doing is replacing diesel injectors and turbo's out of your own pocket.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

I dont mind paying for maintenance but I have heard horror "stories" about the cost of blown turbos and dead injectors.
I haven't been able to find anyone who can verify or dismiss these "stories" for the Ford Focus anyway.
Im still waiting for the quote and Ts&Cs from Hollard

Just be very careful of the T's and C's from Hollard ( any of the extended mtce guys, in fact) They cover their backsides fairly substantially!

I had a 2005 Ford Focus TDCI 2.0, and i loved it. I eventually sold it when i bought my Kia Sportage CRDI.

The focus on average gave me 6.0l/100km, has plenty of pulling power and was a good comfortable drive.

I never had any issues with it, besides when an unlicensed driver in her sisters uninsured car was too busy playing with the radio to see me stopped at the red robot....

I had a 06 hatch and 07 sedan, both awesome, no issues even after 6 years and 120k km.
I'm sure condition will vary from vehicle to vehicle tho; I service twice as often as recommended after maintenance plans expire, only ever used 50ppm, now only 10ppm when possible.

Thanks for the responses, unfortunately there where electrical faults with the car (drivers window, boot wont open, struggled to start) when I tested it :(. On the upside I did get to test drive a 1st gen Ford Focus ST that was really good :D.
