This Feels Terribly Familiar...
Turn the clock back a year to April 7th 2007. Following a Champions League quarter final in Rome, Manchester United minus Vidic and a strangely frail Ferdinand and Van der Sar are given the runaround and lose 2-1 at Portsmouth. With six league games to go, United's lead over Chelsea is cut to three points with United enjoying a marginally superior goal difference.
A tough run-in for United includes Chelsea away from home and difficult looking matches at Everton and Manchester City.

In those final six matches, United contrive to draw at home to Middlesbrough, draw at Chelsea and lose the final match at home to West Ham but still win the title with a comfortable points cushion. In that run-in, Vidic and Ferdinand are injured and are both missing for league matches against Sheffield United and Everton, while Vidic misses a total of four league matches.

On a related point, it is a myth to claim that United have had an injury-free season. Solskjaer was injured at the beginning of the campaign and forced to retire; Neville has been out all season; Silvestre has been out since August; Saha has been injured for most of the season; Park has been out for most of the season; Scholes was out from September until after Christmas; Hargreaves has been unfit for much of the season; Rooney broke his foot in the first match of the season and injured his ankle in December; Foster has only recently returned to action.

Hardly an injury-free campaign.

yea but unlike teams like liverpool and arsenal united have back up players should this happen which is why we are at the top

not even chelsea have great back up players

united must have the strongest squad in the league in terms of replacements

Considering the injuries we have already had this season that would seem to be a valid suggestion.

Brad, they surely dont/cant mean United were playing in the 2nd Division uptil 1975 because United's first league title (first division) was in 1906-07, and 6 more thereafter.

Manchester United Football Club is an English football club, based at the Old Trafford stadium in Trafford, Greater Manchester, and is arguably the most popular football club in the world, with over 330 million supporters worldwide; 5% of the world's population.[2] The club was a founding member of the Premier League in 1992, and has played in the top division of English football since 1975
Not my words

I know , not sure what they mean , cos as i said, United won it 7 times from 1900-1975.

I guess it's not untrue then... it's like saying Arsenal has played first division since a decade ago... true, but not the complete picture. I wouldn't be surprised if that page was written by an Arsenal/Chelsea/Liverpool supporter :D

just heard barcelona are offering henry off at 16 mil

damn liverpool should get henry inject some pace into their attack

yea its quit sad what happened to one of the best prem league strikers ever

had one season of injuries got sold to barce and he hates it there

no doubt at 30 he is still amazing im sure just needs a team that he will fit into and enjoy soccer again

don't you think he might go back to arsenal if that's the case?

never

i would never return to a team who threw me out like garbage after 5 seasons of over 20 goals and then one bad season of injuries and he gets treated like trash

screw arsenal, getting rid of one of their mst prolific strikers in the history of arsenal at age 28 or 29

this is why they cannot win trophies cause they see 16 million and sell their best player

guess so,but i don't necessarily see henry going to liverpool if that's the case,he fit well with arsenal and i don't know if he could be as comfortable in any of the big teams

yea im not saying he will go to liverpool

im saying these are kinds of players liverpool should buy because their attack is slow and boring

with henry and torres running at a defence i would be worried if i played liverpool :)

i think arsenal would have been untouchable had they kept henry who fits in perfectly with their style of play and can score some amazing goals

at the moment arsenal dont have anybody who can score good goals

adebayor lost his way he grew an afro

my fro'd up friend would beg to differ, hehe,:)

torres on his own seems to be causing enough trouble, but i's true that liverpool need to find another striker as soon as possible, they're struggling more and more

liverpool play a defensive game because they had no speed going forward until torres arrived

now torres has added some speed but having 2 fast guys upfront gives you a much faster attack because your given the option of 2 fast extremely deadly finishers

that's where chelsea are one step ahead,we have a starstudded back line and a rush offence that's muchos deadly
