Lara Lara Lara Lara ..... be glad to see the back of him ....

Still touch and go, motoring @ 6 RRP .... 7 wickeys in hand....

We're definately not running away with it.

Kallis BOWLED that new guy, when he danced down the pitch.. center stump.. wasn't even a deflection :D

Another.. smith bought with his over pietersen caught. 181/7 32ov
I must say tho, the over rate being high is a good sign.. means the pitch hasn't slowed too much. hopefully it will remain the same-ish on Sat when SA take on Nz

Pathetic stuff from our "bowlers" again. NZ won't spare us like these hapless Windies did. C'mon, Powell had an average of just over 2 when he walked to the crease. We can't even keep them under 250? I hope you guys aren't reading too much into this win.
Commentators said Windies must be happy NOT to lose by more than 100 runs again like they did against Aus and Sri Lankans.

NZ gonna kill us on Sat. Styris, Oram, Mcullum, McMillian, ouch

Jeez we bat and make 350+ and win the game and you still complainin. Whether its a 100 run win or 67 run win its still a pounding. WI did put up a good though. Well played boys. We'll be here to support you on Saturday.

Yeah win is a win, SL beat them by over 100 but we beat SL so does it really even matter in the end?

We needed this game to fix our run rate and ended up only winning by 67 runs. Disgusting. They should have won by over 100 and moved into positive run rates. All that ended up doing was to undo the screw up against Bang on run rate and did nothing towards the Aus damage. Now we have to beat ENG to go through (NZ game is much of a muchness unless we thrash them). If we had fixed the run rate then a win against NZ and a loss to ENG would probably have been enough.

One other question. What is Ntini still doing in the side? Bowling figures of

10 1 57 1 5.70

are just not good enough when your last 5 overs are to bowlers who have averages like 2.67. He is the one who started the rot against Powell at the end of the match.

Nope, we lost to Bang by 67 and Aus by 83. Our lackluster play against Ireland and close match against SL meant that we did nothing towards fixing the RR damage by Aus. We needed to win this by 100 to move into positive RR. ENG still have to play Bang and a big RR jump against them would see ENG into a position where they have a +0.5 RR. That means that even if we beat NZ (unless it's a thrashing), we will have to beat ENG to go through.

The SA/NZ match only means something if ENG lose another game (BANG, WI) but still beat us. If they lose another and we beat NZ then we are through regardless. If they win all then we are out.

More on the RR:

SA -0.199 1211/229.5 1285/235.0
ENG -0.062 955/200.0 911/188.2

Us saving 40 extra runs in the field would have given us a RR of -0.002 which is better the ENG. If ENG beat WI and BANG, they stand to gain on the RR so because we messed around again, we either need to thrash NZ or beat ENG whereas a decent win against NZ with a close loss to ENG would probably still have seen us through on RR before our casual play at the end of this game.

Sri Lanka vs New Zealand Queen's Park, St George's, Grenada

I wonder which is better for SA.
