Im not so sure about having the better team, I think its like everyone says, they have the more consistent team. They perform game after game and they dont put any game into the hands of ONE player. If something does go wrong they know the rest of the team will up their game to fix it. SA is also capable of that but Id say like once in every 5 games. Also Australia seem to have a concrete set game plan whereas we chop and change like mad. Heres hoping we have a cracker of a match today.Go SAF!!!!

I partly agree with that, but at the same time the Aussies are much better able to adapt and change their plans during the game. If plan A doesn't work for them they'll try something else.

SA seems very inflexible in this regard. I put this down to Smith's arrogance.

For instance, in the group stage game against Aus: the Aussie batsmen were hitting Ntini and Pollock all over the ground in the early stages. Other captains might have switched out bowlers, tried something different, but Smith kept on with Ntini and Pollock going for 10/12 an over. It's like he has to prove that he won't be cowed or intimidated. I dunno.

Smith's batting has (for the most part) been outstanding in this tournament. I realise that you need a degree of arrogance to captain, but I think that Smith's captaincy is adversely affected by being too arrogant.

Having said that: I detest Pieterson. I'd like to see SA win, and see Pieterson soil himself on the field. Yes.

yeah the drinking fest after the NZ isn't helping at all. If we were playing Aus or SL today then I don't think we can do it but it's a mediocre Eng ODI side. We should beat them...I hope we beat them.

pitbull the strength of a team of lies in moving on and getting on with the task at hand, just because we have played badly does not mean we deserve this

we need to dig deep and beat england

look at the aussies they came into the world cup having lost the last 5 out 6 of their last one day games, look at them now have not lost a game

we need to find our heart and fighting ability to get through today

pieterson left SA because we did not want him, all he wanted to do was play cricket and we didnt pick him i would have left as well

pieterson is the best batsmen in the world at the moment dont ever forget that

he left SA because they would not pick him not because he is unpatriotic

Hi Killadoob.

As to why he left has nothing to do with me. The fact that We could have had the number 1 & # 2 batsmen in the world in our line-up is what I'm concerned about.

That being said.

I'm not dishing SA the fact is we're not up to par with the best teams in the world. That is the reason we're going to lose. England & Aus. is constant good performers. They come thru when they need to. SA on the other hand Crashes when it's crunch time... That is a sad fact !

not because he is unpatriotic

Have you heard or read any of the crap he comes up with? His vitriolic verbals and writings lead me to believe he is unpatriotic. Mind you, he's no longer South African is he? So he used to be unpatriotic! :D

I want Makie to hit him in the head with a few bouncers! Not because HE IS UNPATRIOTIC, but because he's good, has a big mouth and he plays for the poms! :D

Yeah nobody really knows but to go to England and play for them means u need to get citizenship right? So that means he left when he was quite young when he didn't even had the patience to wait to get into the team. Then he went on and said that it was a colour problem that he was white and couldnt get into the team. Well the likes of smith and AB is in the team which is evidence that if he had shown promise he could've played for SA. I guess our cricket administrators are at fault as well but anyways it's history.

anyways Eng has transformed him into a great batsmen and a rich bastard as well...also can date almost anyone he wants so I don't think he's complaining. We'll let the cricket do the talking.

He's been in the pom team for longer than that! I'm think he's been gone about 5 - 6 years.

From cricinfo -
Sure enough, as soon as he qualified in September 2004, he was invited to tour Zimbabwe for that winter's one-dayers, where he averaged 104 in three innings.

Well I dont like ol' Pietie boy but he is a damn good cricketer no doubt. If Nel is playing I hope he gives him a few nice bouncers and goes up really close to him and says "I hate Pommies.." hehehe. And yeah Piets accent is very strange. I can hear more of a Saffer thing than a British thing when he talks.

Sa will win this game today

ENGLAND ARE NOT GOOD performers and we need them to show us this today

We will kick into top gear soon, on a fast bouncy track we can beat anyone including aus nz and sri

those slow pitches are the reason we have been owned, all of our games except the west indies where on slow spinning tracks

most of the aussies games have been on fast paced tracks

hope we get a good pitch in the semi's

Lol I cant see SA winning, Nope SA put themselves in a hole and even if they win they play at St Lucia, a slow wicket while the 2 middle teams plays on a better suited SA wicket!
