spot on kiepie with those points. It looks with some of the pitches its better to in fact bite the bullet and bat 1st and put up a big target IF u can pull it off against the bowling team and they slip up in the field in the 1st innings. I wonder if it will be the same in the coming matches..

Now I just hope we don't face SL in semi-finals cause they can be hard if the wicket assists... at the same time NZ seem a bit more stable and might be a tougher opponent.

im glad i hope the windies dont make the semi's cause they have been shocking not looked like wanting too play in most of the games

RIP would rather have sri lanka playing in semi's

batsmen can fix the bowling mistake by batting well something the windies no longer know how to

its going to be some hard semi finals for sa and aus that i can tell but in saying that sri lanka is very dependant on jayasuria, if he goes early they normally loose

no give chanderpaul credit where it is due, he came in at 48 3 with the west indies 1 wicket away from defeat

they only have 5 batsmen that can do anything and 3 where already gone

had chanderpaul or sarwin gone before 100 they would not have reached 190

west indies suck at the moment and you cannot lay blame on chanderpaul

kallis on the other hand came in when he had lots of batting to come he did not need to steady the innings as we where well on the way to victory, all he had to do was score at 1 run a ball not hard for a man of his class

he came in 7 was the req run rate, he went out 14 was the req run rate

After watching last night's game, what're the odds that one of the minnows beat WI? It was depressing to watch, the windies looked defeated before the game started, they had no spark or fight in them.

Watching Ireland's and Bangladesh's recent games, they're fighting all the way. They've got nothing to lose, any super eight will be an amazing achievement for these teams.

I just think that a despondent WI against Bangladesh, it really could go either way.

Tony Cozier looked like he just wanted to curl up in bed and stay there forever, shame man. He even said live on air to Bish that he'd rather not be there. Yesterday I noticed that Lara had absolutely no energy, when they took wickets no excitement, no encouraging his boys I mean it was pretty sad for a guy who I admire in the game, where was his spark yesterday?

And the West Indies is the host nation!? That is really bad....

I guess if they weren't playing, they wouldn't be able to watch the matches - the tickets would be too expensive.

its looking good for SA, they must still play bangladesh and ireland...:D

SA vs NZ vs ENG for 3/4th place...

We still have play against them and the windies have pulled off upset victories in the past competitions against SA team. hopefully we go into the semi's unbeaten except by aus.. else the game could decide if we even get there cause run rates will come in etc

Personally I think Eng aint no walk in the park esp with Mr Pieterson trying to make his point to SA.
NZ will be hard, Windies have 9 days to turn things around, home ground advantage, they can come back strong to prove a point!!

1 very big question.
Why did the Windies play Aus? They both top of their group and 1st in a group plays second in another group. Aus was supposed to play Ireland and not Windies! . . .. . . . . . . . . Right?

No, completely wrong.

All Super eight teams play all other super eight teams, except for the one from the same qualifying group. For eg, SA will play all other super eight teams, 'cept Australia, who we met in the group round.

Oh yes, and West Indies didn't qualify top of their group, either*. Apart from that you seem not to be too confused.

Edit: Okay, sorry you were right about that. I was confused by the all-round woefulness of that group.

Yeah. I fixed that.

I guess I'm just depressed by the Windies at the moment. I'm sure that they are the second-favourite team for a lot of supporters, especially seeing as they're the hosts.

Now why would NZ choose to field.

Rather give your batsmen some practise and setup a big score.
