Wow, what a change from the first one, that really does look good!!!!!

Ford is the bigger MotorCompany and owns Mazda.
Mazda actually shares Ford technology not the other way around:
Mazda 6 NEW - Have not confirmed it yet but it looks as if it is based on the Ford Mondeo that is a big hit overseas - top seller and only SA is stupid enough not to bring it here and stopped selling it here.
Mazda 5 - Based on C-max/S-Max/Galaxy
Mazda 3 - Ford Focus chassis etc. and some say the Focus underneath looks very similar to the Volvo S40 new shape.
Mazda 2 - based on the next generation Ford Fiesta coming later this year or early 2009
They did what the other manufaturers only start realising now is that 2 heads are better than 1. Why do you have to reinvent the wheel 3 or more times?
When you can spend all that effort in improving it.
@first i wasn't a big Ford fan always liked the German's better, but since going to the States and seeing all the proper Ford's there. SA is finally starting to catch up on the proper Ford models, still waiting for the F-150
1 day, ranger is on it's way out and in USA will be discontinued after 2010.
I do think this is a smart move by Ford, full size trucks & SUV's rings true to the old ford way. The new Ford(european influance), focus, fiesta, mondeo thats what everyone wants to remember! Way to go i sayDon't hold your thumbs waiting for "proper" Fords. In the US, Ford is re-tooling a number of of it's factories to stop production of "full size trucks" and SUVs in favour of smaller, more efficient cars like the Focus.

Exactly, this is why Ford has doing well in Europe, but poorly on its home soil in the US. Oversize gas guzzlers aren't even popular in the States anymore.
Lol i know this, Ford motor company is the cash cow!
Mazda 3, Focus, Volvo same platform (this platform was designed by Volvo uhm... no, designed by ford with collaboration of volvo, there is a difference)
6 & mondeo same platform (this one was designed by Ford)
5, C-max (platform designed by ford)
Mazda 2, new fiesta (platform designed by mazda based on their DY platform)
I'm just saying its all a case of synergy and i think its working out great for them!! Hope Ford can use the MX-5 and RX8 platforms and build something cool from that in the future or maybe even Volvo!
O excuse me... contrary to what ppl belief, i dont know everything u knowresponse in quote above...
"Fixing their product mix and cutting their staff down to manageable levels is going to take a fair amount of time to work down to the bottom line," said Bob Schnorbus, chief economist with J.D. Power & Associates. "If they continue to lose money at the current rate, their chances [of bankruptcy] are uncomfortably high."
I hate to break it to you but Ford is in deep poop. They lost $6.3 billion in the second quarter. Only GM is doing worse at a quarterly loss of $15.5 billion.
Only small little cars like the Ka can actually save them. They need to get rid of the F-series and the huge SUVs. Why are they so slow to respond to the market? Where's the hybrids? Where's the EVs? At least GM is trying to do something with the Chevy Volt.
