I think we going to battle. We coming in under cooked. Sri Lanka 1st up is going to be tough, they looking sharp against NZ. Only winners of pools contest semi-finals so it's a very unrelenting format. Lose 2 pool games and it's effectively over... Lose 1 and it's still tight...

I cannot see us beating Sri Lanka and I cannot seeing Sri Lanka losing to anyone else in our pool so they might progress to the semi's...

If you are looking for atmosphere then the India v Pakistan match at Supersport Park on Saturday 26th September is the game of the tournament.

Will be amazing. I've been for the last they played in S.A. and it was electric!!!

Another tournament full of hope only to be smashed by a choke come semi final time. Hopefully that doesn't happen this time. We haven't done to well with icc events that were held in SA so hopefully it goes better this time round.

Funny I hadn't contemplated going to watch any games but you've just reminded me of how thrilling live OD cricket is to watch in particular India/Pakistan battles...

What's perhaps a little startling is this tournament kicks off in less than 2 weeks time and there doesn't seem to be much enthusiasm and/or marketing surrounding the event... Or am I wrong?

I recall from previous tournaments, due to the knock out nature of every fixture and considering it's contested by the worlds top 8 ranked teams, it produces some of the most thrilling cricket of the annual calender.

Probably not enough to inspire the army of 20/20 fanatics out there who've recently discovered the game though.

Pity, I sincerely hope stadiums are jam packed sold out affairs..

i think so too, but they tend to have epic games against each other.....

and I'm a HUGE Chris Gayle fan, man....

That hundred in the 20/20 world cup against us, that's what makes him special. hope he hits Lee/Johnson/Siddle out of Wanderers.....

because all their first string players were on contract disputes.... thus not playing...

i think i knew 2 names in the windies team against bangladesh...

all in context :D

It has to do with time. a 50 over game just takes to long to go and watch at the stadium. I have time to watch a 20/20 game at the stadium but no time to watch a full 50 over game. So I will be watching the games at home on the sofa where I can get my work done at the same time.
