Hi All

I have 3 questions for those who have one of CellCs giga bundles such as the 200GB bundle loaded

1) what happens when you roam on vodacom? Does it deplete your bundle or will it use airtime , if available?

2) I'm not sure how the mtn roaming deal will differ , but from what I heard is that you won't be explicitly roaming as the case was with vodacom. Cellc will mask the mtn name. Does data work when 'roaming' on mtn?

3) if you have another bundle loaded, say 30 day bundle, which one gets depleted first ?

Thanks in advance

I can answer 2. Yes it works on Cell C LTE which is actually MTN tower broadcasting Cell C signal on band 3 and 8. Smart data 200gig.

Dear daiyaan

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding our Giga packages.

Giga are only applicable on the Cell C Internet APN, you will not be be able to roam on any other network with the bundle.

The SIM card obtained when purchasing this data bundle offer may be used for non-data usage if such SIM is inserted into a handset. Non-data usage shall include SMS, voice calls and MMS. Non-data usage (voice, SMS and MMS) shall be billed as per the out of bundle pricing.

Should you add a 30 days data bundle, which ever bundle expires first will be depleted first.

This is important that it works on transparent roaming (MTN towers) Great package, thank you.

1. Have never had a problem roaming on Vodacom using the bundle. I don't have airtime loaded but don't presume it would be different if you do.
2. Yes it broadcasts Cell C's cell id so it's completely transparently and you can't really choose to roam or not.

this service is very disappointing @Cell_C

Speeds are extremely slow. It shows 4g + but it can't even load a Youtube video on 480p without buffering.

is there any settings i can change to improve speeds

Soo true it's like you being throttled

What I found is that when my speeds drops turning my router on and off fixes the problem for me

Bad service is normal on Cell C. I'm in CT, one friend in East London and the other in Durban. All 3 of us have either packet loss or speeds that make you wish you still had 1mbps ADSL.

Yep, when its off it works better :P forcing you to go onto a Mtn or Telkom hotspot is far better than cell c cr@pola

Having to reboot a router several times a day isn't a solution for anything.

It just depends on how close you are to a tower. Unless it happens at specific times then its tower congestion. It's not just a CellC thing. It's the joys of wireless connectivity.
