I think Liverpool signed Rangers defender Danny Wilson a day or two ago. Must go check that.

if Wenger gets Buffon in, it would go a long way to addressing the most pressing issues with this Arsenal team - namely: organisation at the back and a presence between the sticks.

However, at this stage, I still feel the transfer fee and wages will deter Arsenal - really positive move if it does happen tho.

If so then Gooodluck to Arsenal as he will greatly buff their squad (no pun intended)...
But you never know, hopefully Utd can snatch him..:-)
 
Buffon will definately not chose Arsenal as he knows the chances of winning the CL is limited at Arsenal, just like his chances at Juve... he'll most likely chose United :D

But knowing Juve they won't let him go for under 30 mill

At least at either arsenal or man utd he misses the late july europe league qualifiers, juve have to play it because of finishing 7th in serie a.

I doubt he'll leave Juve tho... like Del Piero he's a legend of the club

We need a new midfield. Scholes and Giggs are on their way out and Anderson and Gibson is just not good enough.

But theres a difference here, Arsenal are desperate for a quality keeper and someone on Buffons level could bring trophies next season.. Arsenal are DEFINATELY signing a keeper, the only question is who... I dont think Wenger will take a chance with someone who hasnt proven to be consistent, which is why I dont think he will go for either Hart or Lloris, both had great seasons in 2009/2010, but then Almunia had a fantastic season in 2008/2009 and look what happened the following year

United arent desperate for a keeper, VDS is still top quality and can do the job, he easily has another 2 years in him, and SAF should be using those 2 years to groom his replacement, not looking for another 30+ year old, I think Hart would be a better signing for United than Arsenal, we need an experienced quality keeper immediately and I dont think Hart is the man for the job

It would help if Hargreaves wasn't injured for you guys. What about Carrick and fletcher?

Rubbish - he just did that to get more money. Just like JT used City to get a nice big pay rise... anyone who thinks that he was really on the verge of signing (him actually physically signing a piece of paper) is mad.
