Why would Barca buy pay 70 million for Torres when David Villa is rated as the better striker and we got him for under 40 million?

Think about it. Villa was brought in for the left, he fits in perfectly. If Cesc comes, he will slot in perfectly as well. We are not Madrid, Barcelona wont pay crazy amounts of money for players like Madrid does.

Barcelona are not Real Madrid. The transfer history of the two clubs couldnt be more different.

This is not what I meant. Their transfer habits might be different, but I think Barca have gone out and signed another multi-million pound superstar striker and are reportedly after the best young midfielder in the world, because perhaps they feel that after a year of transition, Real Madrid will be stronger next time round. And considering Real's strong push toward the latter part of the season, finishing only a few points off the Champions, Barca find it too close for comfort and have strengthened again.

I can't see Real spending that kinda cash this season, even if they could afford to.

Signing Villa was extremely good business. Do you expect Barca to make no signings?

They have said all season long that they will make two signings. Villa/Ribery and Cesc.

Big risk they have taken. Del nieri has done well at small clubs with little pressure like chievo,atalanta and samp. But he failed at roma and porto. Also he always plays 4-4-2 so where that leaves diego is a big question.

Juve needs to change something to their game, the old style is not working, I think Del Nieri doesn't have what it takes to get them to the summit but at least he'd mount a better challange for a CL or Europa next season
 
Gosh, they are persistent aren't they!

Aren't they paying a bit much for him though?
