Yeah - but Silva actually has more incentive to move than either Ade or Tevez or anyone else they bought in the last transfer window. Firstly - Man City have laid the foundations for a league winning side. Second, he's not the first big name player to come to them (Tevez, Adebayor, Robinho and Toure cleared the path so to speak... and with Tevez's and Robinho's performances in this World Cup... you have to say they have at least two genuine world class players in their ranks so he won't feel like he's "the only one there" like Robinho must have felt like when he first arrived. Third and most important of all, Valencia really need the money. He's doing them as much of a favour as he is to himself by taking a huge paycheck. He's still young enough (24 I think) to move to a better club in a few years if things aren't all going according to plan.
Nonsense. City, even with all their signings til the end of of last season, still aren't a Champion's League side, so why not go to a better club like Chelsea/United? They've got more established stars and proven track records. As for him doing his club a favour, no player is that sacrificial, choosing to go to a worse club so that his club can make more money, while he moves out of the top tier of football. It's the money, pure and simple. Not to mention, Robinho isn't even certain to continue playing for City.
I only listen to skysportsThis article illustrates clearly how little value we should place on all the transfer rumours:
marseille coach didier deschamps hints hed like to sign arsenals Nasri
Note the leading question and the reply:
And from there they get to a headline which says that he hinted that he would like to sign Nasri.
Now the next paper will quote Goal.com and leave out the question and the response and simply say that Deschamps has hinted that he wants to sign Nasri.
Bunch of a**holes these journalists. And it is not only Goal.com.

Dont know about United having more established stars than City anymore, City are going to be a big problem next season
Rooney, Scholes, Giggs, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, VDS, even Fletcher. Maybe not 'magazine' football stars, but established stars in that they have accomplished a lot. City's players have accomplished very little as players and nothing as a team.
Also, people said that City were going to be in the Top 4 last season. I do agree that they're definitely going to be a threat, but that depends on their manager, their form, and the ability to gel as a team. Also, their ability to keep all their 'big names' happy by giving them a lot of game time. I feel bad that some of their players who actually have talent and have done well for their team (Ireland for example), have been sidelined for bigger names. City now have something like 4 or 5 defensive midfield players. It's ridiculous.
They were very close to being in the top 4 last season, I agree regarding the manager, but its only a matter of time before they get the right combination, and they have the resources to do it..
Once they reach the CL, there will be nothing stopping them from becoming another Real Madrid..
Yeah. ****s.
I'm hoping that the oil fellas will get bored soon.
I wish they'd buy a La Liga club and go play with Barcelona
But who would want a club in the second best league anyway

@Randhir - Come on - how can you say he going to a worse club when Valencia themselves are teetering on the precipice of collapse?.
I meant worse in a purely footballing capacity. Valencia will be playing Champion's League football, City will not. Valencia have won their league twice this decade, City haven't won a trophy in a couple of decades. Yes, Manchester City are probably the best club to be at in terms of money, but look at all the quality footballers who have turned down offers from City (and there have been a LOT) because 1. They aren't a top tier football club. 2. No Champions League.
Silva is there purely for the money. If they don't make the Champions league in the coming season, he'll still be there, picking up his fat cheque week after week, just like Tevez, Toure and Adebayor.
Oh come on - while I'm not naive enough to believe that he wasn't tempted you have to remember that once City showed an interest it was over for the other clubs. the fact is that Chelsea and United (the two clubs with strongest links to the player prior to his City signing) didn't need him at that high a cost means simply that he had nowhere else to go. I personally think that Silva's agent maneuvered the situation so that he will end up with the biggest pot of gold that he possibly could. Really good footballers tend to think of what they will win and City being the likliest option (after United and Chelsea dropped out) he said yes. What else could he say? I mean staying with city would have been even worse - at least here he has money and a chance to win things.
One final thing - don't underestimate the impact of a clubs finances, particularly finances as bad and as publicly ousted as Valencia's can have on the psyche of a team and by extension to the individual players. Not everyone is a Trezeguet, Batistuta etc etc...

I think I have read it correctly. He could say he doesn't want to go to Man City therefore forcing Valencia to drop the fee and having to submit himself to half the wages he will be getting at Man City. Make no mistake, it is purely a money move for him. It has nothing to do with winning things else he would of been at Man United or Chelsea as we speak.

I also think Man City have as much chance as any of the current top 3 (sorry Spurs) of winning something next season
It'd be silly to write them off
