Neutrinos from teh sun melts the earth's core, causing it to become the highest mountain range on earth. And the Cape of Good Hope becomes colonised by the people who survive said neutrinos.
 
I seldom ever watch a movie because I am looking for some deep experience out of it. Life is serious enough as it is without heaping heavy dramatical movie on it too. Watching, for me, is pure escapism. I am looking for a momentary break from reality and from the usual stresses.

That said, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I would give this 4 stars our of 5. Visual effects were simply amazing. Choreography was immaculate. Pure escapism. And so what if the acting for some wasn't up to Academy Award standards.

I would have no hesitation in going to watch it again. And the end bit about South Africa was pure feel good for us as Saffers :D

I need to see this movie, hopefully I can get it tomorrow! It sounds excellent!
 
It was a long and boring movie, after a certain amount of death defying feats the story became totally ridiculous.

I doubt it, not to been mean about telling you to look, its just you would miss out on a really good laugh

ha ha ok my friend but when a friend told me cape town was mentioned i lost the interest in the movie for some reason.
 
So after the core is being microwaved,did it just stop and everything came back to normal?

Worst of all Jacob Zuma has to now deal with a ARK full of yanks,God help us.

We're battling to deal with all the legal and illegal immigrants from north of the border and now the Yanks too :D
 
I agree with pooky & theone on this. Bad movie.
 
I honestly couldnt find any difference between this film and The Day after tommorow. I mean both the main characters in each film had problems with thier kids and wife. If you had to take a 10 second scene from Day after tommorow and put it in 2012 you wouldnt be able to tell the difference. I wanted to leave during that scene when they are tryign to out run the earthquake in the limo .
 
Yea, i saw it the morning it came yout, and me and you dad loughed our asses off about the draaaaakeeenbuurg part XD (dumb americans... (no offence) :wtf:
 
i liked it. it was good eye candy. i wasnt expecting a deep story so i wasnt dissapointed by the lack thereof. 99% of the packed cinema i was in clapped during the draaakensburg part so, dumb south africans too :)

I think all africans where taken care of (Killed), unless they where really really good swimmers, LOL
